Welcome to the news page of the Landscape Institute Wales (LIW) website.

The committee has recently prepared the Development Plan from the Welsh Branch 2007 – 2012, which has led us to re-assess how we allocate the resources available, to focus the support we provide to our members in Wales. Along with the success of the JCLI and CDM07 seminar in October, this has directed our attention to organising a programme of events for the year; the first of the year being a Pathway to Chartership question and answer session followed later in April by the annual dinner at the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff.

The Welsh Policy Officer, Catherine Jenkins, continues to provide invaluable support to the committee, particularly in keeping us informed of evolving policy. Part of her role is to represent landscape architecture within the Regeneration Skills Collective and to liaise with related professions. We continue to respond to the needs of our members in Wales and welcome any suggestions on how we can improve.

In order to promote sustainability and web development technology, we hope that you will make up your own newsletter using the 'notebook' facility below, from items available throughout the website, as and when you want to, rather than issuing a hardcopy throughout the membership as we were about to. We would appreciate news from throughout the region to be included on the website; we can only do this if you let us have your news.
